The attempt at an Iowa Marriage Ban fails. Acording to one Kevin McCarthy, who if memory suffices me, is a state legislator in Iowa, the Iowan government is too bogged down with economic issues to get involved in what he calls "divisive social issues." It is sad to know that the economy had to get so rotten in order for some people to get perspective. I mean, I can't imagine what could have been going through the mind of the person who decided that same-sex marriage, or same sex love in general was such a problem. It might have gone something like this. "Oh my gosh. Two people who are harming nobody are doing something that I disagree with, but has absolutely nothing to do with me and does not affect my life in any way whatsoever. THEY MUST BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY!

Sad news. As you well know by now, the states of California and Arizona have passed amendments to their state constitutions barring same-sex marriage. Such a shame. Can't they see that same-sex couples are a blessing to the institution of marriage, and not a stain on it. It kind of makes one feel sorry for these people who voted for it. It must be painfull carrying all that hate around. Anyway, I know that the two of you will not give up the fight to bring inclusiveness and love for all of God's children.
